A GRIM Update

Hello all! Steph’s intern here. My name is Daleyna, and I am thrilled to be helping Steph out with her major projects—including this Substack! A little about me: I’m currently studying to get a BA in English and Writing. The goal is to someday write creatively for a living, just like Steph! I hope to write everything from screenplays to comic books! Speaking of, I’m a massive Marvel nerd and a big fan of all superhero media. I’m especially into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). My current favorite superhero (it’s always changing) is Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. And my favorite superhero comic book is Marvel’s Civil War.

But enough about me—onto Steph-related news!

GRIM #1 Released!

GRIM debuted its first issue yesterday, Tuesday, May 11! Steph, along with artist Flaviano Armentaro, colorist Rico Renzi, and letterer Tom Napolitano have created a beautiful, intricate, awesome story about the lore of death. The comic centers around Jessica Harrow, a Reaper tasked with guiding souls to their final destination. There’s just one problem: unlike all the other Reapers, Jess doesn’t know how she died. The story follows her as she tries to solve the mystery of her own death and an entwining bigger question: where is the true Grim Reaper?

I’m so excited for everyone to read this comic! I was totally entranced from the first panel. Even more exciting—GRIM has already sold out ahead of its release and gone to a second printing! GRIM #1 Second Printing will be available on June 1, 2022. Here’s a look at the new second cover.

To celebrate GRIM’s release, Steph will be signing at Pulp 716 in Buffalo, NY on Saturday May 14 from 12-4pm EST. If you can’t catch her then, she’ll also be appearing at these upcoming conventions:
